It's no longer an walk and talk RPG - it's a true shooting action running RPG hybrid.
The sprinting mechanic alone makes the game so much better - everything is fast, everything is dangerous. only to emerge into the sunlight with 2 bullets in your mag, and then sprint to safety with a pack of 8 raiders chasing you and firing pot shots. You haven't lived until you've been trapped in subway tunnel, back turned to collapsed rubble, and unloaded your MP40 into a horde of oncoming ghouls. I'm using the slow-motion bullet time mechanic of FWE (which is limited by one's action points) and other than that it feels like a real shooter. snap into VATs, select the headshot option, press the button, and win. I recall playing the vanilla version on PS3 with hum-drum ritual. The gameplay is a thousand times more intense than vanilla Fallout 3. Every venture into the wasteland is full of expectations, ranging from fear to anticipation and doubt. Every item is a utility, from empty syringes to tin cans. Every dungeon cleared is a unique and challenging experience, with creative decisions at the forefront of my actions. Every bullet fired is an economic choice with conservation and survival in mind. This is the best experience I've had with a video game since I was a child (except for RO1 ).Įvery moment is intense and gripping.
MiniHideout adds some a little underground bunker hideout for storage, sleeping, and healing (Don't need to bother with two loading screens to get to the one in Megaton). Fellout just removes the ubiquitous green "radioactive" glow of everything and makes the sky blue again (makes sense 200 years after the nuclear apocalypse. MMM diversifies enemies and adds a bunch of new ones. FWE basically tweaks every aspect of gameplay. I've recently installed it and modded it with Fallout Wander's Edition, Mart's Mutant Mod, Fellout, and "Mini Hideout". I enjoyed it and thought the setting was cool, but thought that the gameplay mechanics were gimmicky (I hate the VATs system) and that the challenge of the game was moot. I played the game in 2008 on Playstation 3 and was generally favorable towards it. Hey guys, I just wanted to express my enthusiasm and joy with my recent Fallout 3 experience.
